So often we spend more time in our cars, in our homes, or in office buildings rather than taking a walk outside. We can feel more peaceful, a sense of awe, excitement and adventure, and pure joy from spending time in nature. Our experiences can remind us that there is more to life than our day to day to-do list.
Go on a nature hike, canoe in the lake, walk in the park or your neighborhood, have a picnic, dance in the rain, or spend time gardening. As you are outside, allow yourself to breathe in deeply, walk slowly, and truly enjoy the experience. Listen to the birds and the leaves on the trees. Sometimes, just allowing ourselves to reconnect to the outdoors can clear up our confusion, inspire us, help us feel more peaceful, and give us more energy.
