As promised, today I’m going to give you some tips and inspiration to have your own “Tea Time with Spirits” conversations. I love the idea of this, because the thought of tea time makes me think of getting together with friends, having nurturing, fun time together, and relaxing. That’s what happens, in a nut shell. I’m going to share with you what I do, but just use it as a jumping off point to create your own ideal experience.
- I decided that my tea time would be 20 minutes long and that it would be the first thing I do in the morning when I start my computer. Whether I get a message or not, I will sit there with my tea and computer ready for 20 minutes. I feel like 20 minutes is a short enough amount of time to do daily (or almost daily) without planning issues or feeling overwhelmed. I decided that if for some reason I don’t get any messages, I’ve only been sitting for 20 minutes, not hours. Also, 20 minutes is about the time it takes to finish a cup of tea. I’ve always gotten a message, and the time has flown by. Apart from the joy of listening to my Spirit Guides, this has become a very relaxing start to my morning. Rather than rushing to start my to-do list, I reinforce that I have plenty of time to sit and slowly enjoy a cup of tea and nurture my Spirit.
- I created a Word document on my computer called “Tea Time With Spirits” and saved it to my desktop. This way, it’s easy to see and retrieve whenever I’m ready. You can also use a notebook if you feel more comfortable. I type a lot faster than I can manually write, so that’s why using the computer is better for me.
- I begin by taking a few minutes to center myself. You could do something like the Sun Meditation, say a prayer, an affirmation, or just take a few moments to be silent. The first time I had Tea Time with Spirits, the following message flowed through me, so I say it now before I begin: I am surrounded in pure, white, healing energy. It enters and comes from within my body. My body and surrounding is filled with the Divine Light of love, and I feel so peaceful. Any extraneous thoughts or feelings disappear into the light. I am filled with comfort, reassurance, and confidence in myself and in my Spirit Guides, who are always guiding and directing me. They are my friends, and they are here for me every moment of the day. As I breathe into the light and relax my body and mind, I allow the loving messages of my spirit guides to easily through me. Their messages fill my mind and my heart and flow through my fingertips onto the page so I can share their loving messages with others.
- After centering, I take a sip of my tea and ask my Spirit Guides what messages they have for me. I poise my fingers over the keys and listen. Their message may feel like a whisper in your head. A quiet thought. Write down anything that you “hear” in your mind, even if you feel like you’re making it up. It doesn’t matter. The more you do it, the more you will realize the difference between their voice and yours. Another thing that may help you is to imagine your Spirit stepping to the right side of your body and imagining other Spirit messages coming into your mind from the left. You may get messages in the form of words, images, smells, through a song, and even feelings, so write down everything you experience. For example, if you feel a coldness or see a white spark in the air, write that down. If the same song keeps going through your mind, write down which lyrics you’re hearing. If you keep seeing an apple, write that down. It may not make sense to you at the time, but that doesn’t matter. Just write it down.
The more you do this, the more relaxed you will feel, and the more experiences you will have. Have patience with yourself, and release your expectations of what you are supposed to experience.
Please let me know if you try this and want to share your experiences. I’d love to hear about them!
